Description
The Mission of Christ’s Church
In an Age of Moral Chaos
May 2-4, 2016
Based upon 1 Peter 2:9, 11, the Rev. Dr. Joel D. Lehenbauer, Executive Director of the CTCR of the LCMS will present and lead a discussion on The Mission of Christ’s Church In an Age of Moral Chaos.
Operating from a view of ourselves as resident aliens, Dr. Lehenbauer writes that "Peter offers 1st-century insights and theological resources for a 21st-century strategy for the church. He offers a challenging and hopeful strategy for the church’s survival and for sharing the Gospel of Christ in an increasingly 'alien,' non-Christian culture."
Luther (on 1 Peter 2:9): “We live on earth only so that we should be a help to other people. Otherwise, it would be best if God would strangle us and let us die as soon as we were baptized and had begun to believe. For this reason, however, he lets us live: that we may bring other people to faith as he has done for us.”
Plan on attending this lively and relevant investigation regarding a strategic realignment for the mission of the church in our culture.
